Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 17th September2018:Abanos, one of the largest and most established holistic interior fit-out and joinery companies in the UAE, has been awarded a milestone package which isthe ExpoVillage project by Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Expo Village project is a landmark in the history of Abanos, using state-of-the-art joinery and fit-out products manufactured at Abanos’ 21,000m2 facility to supply and installnon-fire-rated and fire-rated doors, kitchen cabinets, and wardrobesfor the Dubai Expo 2020 Village Project. The project built up area is48,488 sq. m. with a contract value of $13.4 Million for Carpentry and Joinery works,spread across eleven plots, five parcels, three of which have been commissioned to Abanos.

The Expo Village project, which is to be delivered in two phases, consists of 11 plots, each with podium parking. It will be connected to Dubai Metro’s Red Line extension and designed within a building information modelling (BIM) framework to achieve LEED Gold certification. Construction is underway and the project is set to be delivered in Q4 of 2019.

In addition to hosting thousands of visitors and participants during Expo 2020, Dubai Expo Village will feature a range of retail outlets and community amenities, including a school, a day-care center, and a healthcare facility.
