Our History
Abanos is one of the UAE’s leading interior fit-out companies, with an in-house joinery factory spanning 23,775.89 sqm. Established in 1985, the company relies predominantly on in-house capability, ensuring stringent quality control and on-time delivery.
With a diverse workforce of over 1,100 skilled professionals, the company has completed more than 1,000 prestigious, high-end projects across various sectors, demonstrating its capability to deliver complex projects.
1985
The Journey Begins
Established in 1985, Abanos (formerly ECC Furniture Industries) started in Sharjah with a 100,000-square-foot factory and storage space to serve the local market. The company then expanded its projects and operations, adopting advanced equipment to broaden its reach across the Gulf region.
1996
Interior Design & Fit-Out Works
In 1996, ECC Furniture Industries (ECCFI) expanded into interior design and fit-out works by opening an interior design office in Sharjah and exclusive showrooms in Dubai, Al Quoz.
2002
Abanos (Trade Name)
In 2002, the company changed its trade name to "Abanos Furniture & Decoration Industry LLC" (with "Abanos" meaning Ebony tree in Arabic), reflecting its image of fine craftsmanship.
2010
New Head Office & Factory
Abanos established its headquarter in a 15,000 m² facility in Dubai Investment Park, equipped with advanced machinery for wood cutting, shaping, veneering, and polishing. This investment enables us to meet the needs of clients across various sectors.
2013
Digitization Drive
Abanos launched the Digitization Drive in its joinery factory to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve precision, leveraging advanced technology to optimize production processes and deliver higher-quality, more consistent results in every project.
2018
Design Middle East Award
Abanos was recognized as "Fit-out Firm of the Year 2018" at the Design Middle East Awards, solidifying its position as a leading service provider and trusted business partner for interior and joinery projects across the MENA region.
2019
Warehouse in DIC
The company expanded its operations with a 6,000 m² warehouse in Dubai Industrial City to meet growing storage and distribution demands, enhancing logistics efficiency and supporting improved service delivery across the region.
2020
UV Painting Line Integraton
Abanos integrated a new Ultraviolet (UV) painting line to manage all UV coating processes in joinery works, enhancing efficiency, ensuring high-quality finishes, and providing faster curing times for more durable and precise results across all projects.
